Frequently asked questions

What does AIMS Advisor do?

It validates AI agent designs and concrete artifacts (Inter-Agent Message Envelopes, AIP traces, archetype declarations) against the published XSI Agent Instrumentation and Management Specification (AIMS). AIMS is an open agent-governance standard well-suited to Microsoft Sovereign AI deployments on Azure Local + Foundry Local, but it is substrate-agnostic.

Is AIMS Advisor a Microsoft product?

No. AIMS Advisor is published by Extended Systems, Inc., a third-party Microsoft Partner, and developed by its XSI subsidiary (Extended Systems Intelligence Corporation).

Does AIMS Advisor “certify” my agent as AIMS-conformant?

No. AIMS Advisor is advisory only. It returns conformance findings against the AIMS spec sections it cites. There is no formal AIMS conformance program at this time. Use language like “validates against AIMS §X.Y”, not “AIMS-certified.”

Where is the validator hosted? What happens to my submitted data?

The validator backend is hosted on Microsoft Azure Container Apps in US-East. It is stateless: artifacts you submit are processed in memory and discarded after the response. No customer data persists. See the Privacy Policy.

What's the pricing?

Which AIMS spec version does the validator use?

The current pin is at /v1/spec-pin and embedded in every validator response (aims_spec_version + aims_spec_md5 fields). Re-pins are announced 30 days in advance per the Terms of Use §6.

Can I use AIMS Advisor for compliance or audit purposes?

The Service is advisory and does not constitute legal, regulatory, compliance, or audit advice. Treat its findings as one input into your own review process. See Terms of Use §2 + §9.

How do I report a bug?

Email support@xtendedsystems.com with what you expected vs. what happened, the validator response payload (it embeds the spec pin so we can reproduce against the right snapshot), and the Copilot tenant id (used for diagnostics only).

How do I report a security vulnerability?

Email security@xtendedsystems.com. Coordinated disclosure: do not publish the vulnerability before Extended Systems, Inc. has had reasonable time to investigate (we target 90 days).

Can I deploy the validator backend in my own Azure tenant instead of using the hosted one?

Not in V1. A self-hosted-validator option is on the roadmap for v1.1 (Q3 2026). If this is a hard requirement for your procurement, contact sales@xtendedsystems.com.

What's the relationship between AIMS Advisor and the XSI LodeStone appliance?

AIMS Advisor uses the same open AIMS specification that XSI LodeStone implements. They are independent products — AIMS Advisor is a Copilot extension for governance review, LodeStone is a sovereign agentic appliance for SMB verticals. For LodeStone information, contact sales@xtendedsystems.com.
